How many of you out there have eaten Indian food,and how many of you after eating Indian food haven’t complained about having an upset stomach because of the food,well lets not get into the matter of upset stomach.We are discussing Indian food okay.Firstly when one speaks about Indian food they automatically start thinking about curries well do you know something curries are a very small part of Indian cooking,do you think a country having 28 states and 7 union territories and a population of  1,241,491,960 having a wide variety of languages such as:  · Angika · Assamese · [(Bajjika)]{(.)} Beary bashe · Bengali · Bhojpuri · Bodo · Chhattisgarhi · Dogri · English · Garo · Gujarati · Standard Hindi · Kannada · Kashmiri · Khasi · Kokborok · Konkani · Magahi · Maithili · Malayalam · Manipuri · Marathi · Mizo · Nepali · Oriya · Punjabi · Rajasthani · Sanskrit · Santali · Sindhi · Tamil · Telugu · Tulu · Urdu . have only one cuisine,well what one thinks about when we speak about Indian food is Naan(the Indian bread) and butter chicken in gravy,well there is much more to indian food then two a fore mentioned things and we are going to discuss about them in brief,we are going to speak about the various regional indian cuisines.

  1. Gujarati food-is food from the state of Gujarat located in western india the food is predominantly vegetarian and consists of dal,rotli,shak,bhaat.some of it’s famous dishes are undhiya,puranpoli,jalebi,phapda,khaman dhokla etc.
  2. Punjabi food-it is food from the punjab region of india which is in northern india it can be both non-vegetarian as well as completely vegetarian now this is where the famous ‘BUTTER CHICKEN’ originated from
  3. Bengali cuisine is a culinary style originating in Bengal, a region in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent, which is now divided between West Bengal and Bangladesh. Other regions, such as Tripura, and the Barak Valley region of Assam (in India) also have large native Bengali populations and share this cuisine,they love their fish and rice.
  4. Rajasthani cuisine-Originating for the Marwar region of the state is the concept Marwari Bhojnalaya, or vegetarian restaurants, today found in many part of India, which offer vegetarian food of the Marwari people.some famous dishes are daal baati,churma,laapsi,Boondi,Kadhi etc.
  5. Goan cuisine Goan cuisine consists of regional foods popular in Goa, located along India‘s west coast along the Arabian Sea. Seafood, coconut milk, rice and local spices are main ingredients of Goan cuisine. The area is located in a tropical climate, and spices and flavors are intense. Use of Kokum is another distinct feature. Goan food cannot be considered complete without fish. It is similar to Malvani cuisine/Konkani cuisine.famous goan dishes-Goan cuisine consists of regional foods popular in Goa, located along India‘s west coast along the Arabian Sea. Hyderabadi cuisine is a princely legacy of the Nizams of Hyderabad, India It is heavily influenced by Turkish (Biryani), Arabic (Haleem), Mughlai and Tandoori, with considerable influence of the spices and herbs of the native Telugu and Marathwada cuisine.[1][2]some of it’s famoush dishes are-hyderabadi biryani,hyderabadi haleem,dalcha,kubuli are some of its wide variety of food items.
  7. South Indian cuisine includes the cuisines found in the four southern states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu The similaritiesare the presence of rice as a staple food, the use of lentils and spices, the use of dried red chillies and fresh green chillies, coconut and native fruits and vegetables like tamarind, plantain, snake gourd, garlic, ginger, etc. Overall all the four cuisines have muchin common and differ mostly in the spiciness of the food.some of its famous dishes-a large range of curries,rice dishes and dishes with usage of spices,dosa,idli,sambhar,rasam,vada etc
  8. North indian cuisine it involves a large large variety of dishes as it involves various states.
  9. Maharashtrian (or Marathi) cuisine is cuisine of the Marathi people, those from the state of Maharashtra in India. Maharashtrian cuisine covers a range from being mild to very spicy dishes. Wheat, rice, jowar, bajri, vegetables, lentils and fruit form important components of Maharashtrian diet. Popular dishes include puran poli, ukdiche Modak, and batata wada.But this was only till mumbai-ya food came into existence,it is basically the food of mumbai where cuisines of various states actually leave alone states those of various different countries have been put together to cater to the taste buds of it’s inhabitants,you come to mumbai and most probably will find the cusine you are looking for.
  10. Bihari cuisine (Hindi: बिहारी खाना, Urdu: بِہاری کھانا‎) is eaten mainly in Bihar, Jharkhand, Eastern Uttar Pradesh.Bihari cuisine is predominantly vegetarian because traditional Bihar society influenced by Buddhist and Hindu values of non-violence did not eat eggs, chicken, fish and other animal products.some famous dishes are-Khichdi,saag(and not shag),3]Kafta,VegKorma,Paalak paneer,Shaahi paneer,Jhor Waali Machhli etc.
