R.I.P Hugo Chavez

Recently i had the opportunity of attending an international conference where i got to meet a lot of people especially Venezuelans,we were having our conversations and then came up the topic of Hugo Chavez, though the initial response  was quite negative like Hugo Chavez was not at all helping the Venezuelans,he was not a peoples person etc etc, these guys described themselves as the middle income people and that the security situation was very bad back in Venezuela, but then there was this other group which spoke highly of  Mr Chavez and how he had used the oil money to help the poor of Venezuela, and  on the 5th of march,2013 i heard about his demise,so i decided to write a blog on all the work Mr Chavez has done for the world and Venezuela.

Hugo Rafael Chavez Fracas (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈuɣo rafaˈel ˈtʃaβes ˈfɾi.as]; 28 July 1954 – 5 March 2013) was the President of Venezuela from 1999 until his death in 2013. He was formerly the leader of the Fifth Republic Movement political party from its foundation in 1997 until 2007, when it merged with several other parties to form the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which he led until his death.

Following his own political ideology of Bolivarianism and “socialism of the 21st century“, he focused on implementing socialist reforms in the country as a part of a social project known as the Bolivarian Revolution, which has seen the implementation of a new constitution, participatory democratic councils, the nationalization of several key industries, increased government funding of health care and education, and significant reductions in poverty, according to government figures.[1]

Chavez was raised by his grandmother in a house with a mud floor in rural Venezuela and evoked almost religious passion among poor supporters who loved his folksy charm, common touch and determination to put the nation’s oil wealth at their service.

He burst onto the national scene by leading an attempted coup in 1992. It failed and he was imprisoned, but he then formed a political party on his release two years later and swept to power in a 1998 election.

It was the first of four presidential election victories, built on widespread support among the poor.

The flamboyant 58-year-old had undergone four operations in Cuba for a cancer that was first detected in his pelvic region in mid-2011. His last surgery was on December 11 and he had not been seen in public since.

I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER HE WAS GOOD OR A BAD POLITICIAN BUT HE SURELY WAS A VERY FAMOUS LEADER,ATLEAST FOR THE POOR OF HIS COUNTRY.images
